The relationship among counselor maturity, mindfulness and countertransference utilization

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among counselor maturity, mindfulness and countertransference utilization. 124 counselors participated in this study. The instrument used for this study were Counselor Maturity Scale(Lee), Mindfulness Scale(Park), Countertransference Utilization Inventory(Choi). The data analyzed by ANOVA, correlation analysis and regression analysis(stepwise) using SPSS 18.0 program. The result of this study are as follows: The Countertransference utilization have been shown high when it was the group of first level counselor, when the length of their service was long. Counselor maturity and mindfulness have significant effect on countertransference utilization. Sensibility among the sub-factors of counselor maturity had a influence on entire countertransference utilization. And present awareness among sub-factors of mindfulness had a influence on entire countertransference utilization. The results were discussed, and limitations and suggestion for future studies were also discussed.
